Description
Up for sale, a 1993 Moon EL5-345D in showroom-clean condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtags. Crafted by PGM in Japan, this finely-built Moon is an extremely rare archtop that takes its cues from Gibsons L-5CN, with a full 17 lower bout width, 3 3/8 body depth, choice tonewoods, and a Bartolini 5J floating humbucker.
Tonewoods include a spruce top, flame maple back/sides, three-piece maple/mahogany neck, and a bound ebony fingerboard, and this EL5-345D is rich, round, and authoritative, with plenty of glassy treble articulation and a lively upper-midrange chime. Plugged in, the Bartolini 5J floating humbucker is very much akin to Gibsons classic Johnny Smith design, delivering fantastic clarity, definition, and warmth. This EL5-345D weighs 6lbs 10oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mikes Guitar Bar with 12-52 flatwound strings, easy-playing action, and accurate intonation.
